Design Challenge

To design a refined and emotionally resonant tea gift set for Mid-Autumn Festival, integrating CryoLife’s high-end medical brand tone with the warmth of cultural storytelling. The challenge lay in harmonizing aesthetic luxury with functional elegance, while ensuring a thoughtful unboxing experience through well-planned packaging materials and tactile details.

Design Concept

The set features three premium teas — White Tea, Longjing Green Tea, and Yellow Tea — curated under the prestigious 玉峰茶莊. Each element of the packaging reflects the poetic calm of Mid-Autumn:

  • The rigid hand-crafted gift box, embedded with gold-foiled leaf patterns, offers a symbolic nod to harvest and longevity.

  • A magic-flap opening reveals a semi-transparent insert card featuring cloud motifs and the iconic Mid-Autumn rabbit, softly glowing like moonlight.

  • Inside, gold-foiled stickers on the tea tins echo the natural elegance of tea leaves, adding texture and tactility to the experience.

  • A unique glass tea cup included in the set completes the ritual, inviting the user to slow down, steep, and savor.

We focused heavily on material curation — ensuring structural integrity, print precision, and luxury finishes while optimizing the storage of multiple components within one harmonious box.

Our Reflection

This project taught us that packaging can go beyond protection — it can be a poetic experience, much like tea itself. By honoring Mid-Autumn’s themes of reunion and peace, and combining that with CryoLife’s brand values of preservation and care, we created a gift set that feels timeless. It’s a celebration not just of tea, but of intention, tradition, and the beautiful rituals that connect us.
